The contract includes the design, construction and financing of a 42-km motorway and the subsequent operation of 74 km of motorway, consisting of the new section and an existing 32-km section.
The A-30 motorway has several unique elements; the tunnel under the Soulanges Canal and two major bridges, the bridge over Saint Lawrence River, measuring 1,860 metres long and the bridge over the Beauharnois Canal, measuring 2,550 metres long.
The latter holds two world records: the longest incrementally launched bridge and the longest cantilever bridge in North America 18,900 direct and indirect jobs have been created over the duration of the completion of the works.
AIM
To bypass Montreal’s metropolitan area, thus reducing the flow of vehicles crossing the island where the second most densely populated city in Canada is located.

MILESTONE
