ACCIONA is boosting its presence in the USA with the arrival of its Concessions business at the company’s offices in Chicago.The main aim of this decision is to strengthen its presence in the country and help build relationships with potential partners and clients.

This move is part of the new strategy for ACCIONA’s concessions business, which is seeking to expand its activities into new markets and regions, as well as strengthening its leadership position in traditional markets such as transport and social infrastructures.

The arrival of part of the Concessions team in Chicago reflects the fact that the USA has become a country in which ACCIONA has a strong commercial interest in general and its Concessions business in particular.

ACCIONA is already present in the water and energy markets in the USA.In the water sector, ACCIONA has constructed and operates the USA’s largest desalination plant, supplying water to 2.5 million people and producing 108,000 m³ of water per day.This plant came into operation in 2008 and has won various international awards in the sector.In energy, ACCIONA owns nine operational wind farms in the USA, with a combined capacity of 866 MW.It also has a 64 MW solar-thermal plant in the Nevada desert.
